Welcome to MIRANOVA TECHNOLOGIES
UV-C destroys plastics (PP, PE, ABS) rapidly. It breaks polymer chains, creating a fine micro-dust ("chalking") on the surface.
* The Risk: In a cleanroom, the UV robot isn't just sterilizing; it is creating particulate contamination (dust) from the machine housings or the room's cables.
* The Opportunity: Using UV-stabilized materials or metal shielding to protect the cleanroom classification (ISO 5/7).
Make material test!! Use EUROFINS Protocol and Test for Gloves, and ISO DN standard specific to UV-C Light and Testing IEC 60068-2-87
ASTM G224 (Published/Active)
Title: Standard Practice for Operating UVC Lamp Apparatus for Exposure of Materials.
Context: Developed by ASTM Committee G03, this practice provides the baseline for how to set up the apparatus to test materials against UV-C. It is often used in conjunction with ASTM D2565 or similar property-testing standards (tensile strength, color change) to measure the effect of that exposure.
The "Hacked" Standards (Common Practice)
Before IEC 60068-2-87, and still commonly today, labs use Solar Weathering Standards modified with UV-C lamps. You will often see reports referencing these with a note saying "modified for UV-C 254nm":
ASTM G154: Standard Practice for Operating Fluorescent Ultraviolet (UV) Lamp Apparatus.
Note: Normally for UV-A/UV-B. Labs swap the bulbs for UV-C germicidal lamps (T8/T5) but follow the G154 protocol for temperature and cycling.
ISO 4892-2 / -3: Plastics - Methods of exposure to laboratory light sources.
Note: Similar to above, often cited for the methodology of exposure, even if the light source is changed to UV-C.
4. Industry Specific (Appliance Safety)
IEC 60335-1 (Annex T)
Context: This is the safety standard for household electrical appliances.
Relevance: Annex T specifically addresses UV-C radiation effects on non-metallic materials. If you are CE-marking a consumer device (like an air purifier), this is likely the "standard" your Notified Body will care about. It typically requires materials to withstand a specific dose (often represented as 1000 hours of continuous exposure or similar) without becoming unsafe (brittle/cracking).

Our mission
We're on a mission to change the way the housing market works. Rather than offering one service or another, we want to combine as many and make our clients' lives easy and carefree. Our goal is to match our clients with the perfect properties that fit their tastes, needs, and budgets.
Our vision
We want to live in a world where people can buy homes that match their needs rather than having to find a compromise and settle on the second-best option. That's why we take a lot of time and care in getting to know our clients from the moment they reach out to us and ask for our help.
Our team
Our strength lies in our individuality. Set up by Esther Bryce, the team strives to bring in the best talent in various fields, from architecture to interior design and sales.
