Machines and Hygienic Design
Differences between unhygienic design and hygienic design
2/17/2026

This week, MIRANOVA's ENGINEERING LENS shifts focus from UV-C light to Machine Design.
Here is a simple fact: A machine isn't "hygienic" just because it’s made of stainless steel.
Writing a spec that says equipment "must be hygienic" or "easy to clean" is dangerous.
It's the engineering equivalent of hoping for the best.
The difference between a contamination risk and a cleanable asset lies entirely in the clarity of the specs.
Just like high-performance optical UV-C Light design, hygienic design relies on critical details that determine whether your system optimizes safety or harbors risk.
If you can't test it, don't specify it.
As always, feel free to reach out to contact@miranova.tech to know more, and discuss further this topic!
